On Oyster is a beautifully appointed villa located in a small seaside village called Bagumbayan (Boggomsbaai), perfectly positioned between Cape Town and Knysna, just a 30-minute drive south of Mossel Bay. The beachfront villa offers guests uninterrupted ocean views and access to a remote beach that stretches for miles.

Staying at On Oyster offers guests the best of both worlds. Enjoy the peace, tranquillity and nature of Boggomsbaai as well as being close enough to Mossel Bay town to experience the luxury of a restaurant, spa or the new adrenaline-pumping zip line over the sea.

The villa is situated at the end of Oyster Drive in a cul-de-sac overlooking the ocean, with fantastic birdlife and land-based whale watching, providing endless hours of relaxation.

The Villa

On Oyster has seven en-suite bedrooms, a large sea-facing, central entertainment area comprising an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with a fireplace as well as a games room.

There are three king bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs, each with sliding doors leading onto private patios.  In addition, there are two bedrooms, both en-suite with single beds upstairs, suited to singles sharing.

The swimming pool is totally protected with an adjoining steam room and jacuzzi, while the upstairs deck is well-appointed with seating and lounging areas – the perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean view.

EXPERIENCE NATURAL WONDERS

Whale Watching

South Africa boasts a 900km long stretch of coastline that makes up the Whale Route.  It extends from False Bay to Plettenberg Bay, putting Boggomsbaai on the map.

Every year, between June and December, Southern Right Whales journey to our South African shores to mate and calve with prime whale-watching season peaking between August and October, although sometimes they arrive early and leave late. Calving normally takes place in August and September, but can happen as early as July.

On Oyster is the perfect spot to enjoy the whales blow and breach from the comfort of the upper deck.

Activities

Boggomsbaai’s beach is perfect for fishing enthusiasts or for taking long rejuvenating walks and/or swimming in the sea.

Explore surrounding villages by bike and experience spectacular sunsets at nearby Fransmanshoek Conservancy and view points.

A trip to Mossel Bay for shopping or restaurants is about 30 minutes away.  The area is surrounded by artisanal wineries and restaurants – a list of which is available on arrival at the villa.

Take a day-trip to nearby seaside towns – Gouritzmond, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay or inland to Prince Albert and Oudtshoorn.
